"Clustering application to single-channel fetal heart rate monitoring"
Abstract:
Non-invasive fetal electrocardiography (ECG) is based on the acquisition of signals from abdominal surface electrodes, and allow for the acquisition of valuable and reliable information that helps ensure fetal well-being during pregnancy. The speaker will present the work of his research group on low-cost, reconfigurable instruments for electric biosignals and their application to Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) monitoring. Thus, a new procedure for fetal heart rate extraction from a single-channel abdominal ECG signal will be presented. This procedure comprises a wavelet-based method for signal denoising, fetal QRS complex detection, and false negative and false positive correction. It relies on clustering techniques to classify singularities from the maternal abdominal ECG into maternal QRS complexes, fetal QRS complexes, and noise.
