Scientific Computing graduate students Chad Sockwell, Isaac Lyngaas, Lukas Bystricky and Nicolas Lopez will give talks at the upcoming 8th Annual JohnFest/SIAM Student Conference on February 6, 2016 at Clemson University. The informal miniconference in applied mathematics and related areas is sponsored jointly by the National Science Foundation, Clemson’s SIAM Student chapter, SIAM Southeast and Clemson’s Math department.

The conference gives beginning researchers an outlet to present their scholarship in a comfortable, public forum outside their respective departments, and provides a no-stress opportunity to receive feedback from faculty and fellow students. Students learn what research is being done by their peers, and encourages interuniversity collaboration and idea exchange.

Other attendees from Scientific Computing include postdocs Nan Jiang and Luca Bertagna. Research Associate John Burkardt will also attend.
