A record number of Florida State University faculty members have received the National Science Foundation’s prestigious CAREER award this year for researchers in the early stages of their careers.
Five Florida State University assistant professors have received the award that carries funding for their lab as well as the opportunity to work closely with the NSF in refining the direction of their research.

Scientific Computing Doctoral candidate Eitan Lees was accepted as a presenter at the 2018 Engineering Mechanics Institute Conference to be held May 29 – June 1 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The conference is sponsored by MIT, the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and CNRS, France’s National Center for Scientific Research.

Amirhessam Tahmassebi, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Scientific Computing, was recently awarded the university’s Graduate Student Research and Creativity Award in the natural and physical sciences, including mathematics and engineering category.
